Lincoln Pond Campground

This 35-site DEC State Campground is the perfect choice for those looking to get away! Amenities include: flushing toilets, bathhouse, shower, picnic area, swimming beach, boat launch, and trailer dumping station.

Camping

This small, sheltered, pond is a popular camping, boating, and swimming destination. Choose from primitive, island, or developed sites. There is a bathing beach and boat rentals, and facilities in main complex. Backcountry and boat access-only sites are in more remote areas of the campground.

Giant Mountain

Giant is a shortened name for the peak that was originally called Giant of the Valley, and that's exactly what it is — a huge landmass that towers over Keene Valley and the surrounding lowlands. The parking areas for Giant Mountain often fill quickly, especially in the summer, and it is illegal to park along Route 73. Consider choosing a less popular, and less crowded, trail to avoid the risk of getting a ticket. Or just the approach from the north, which typically sees less traffic.

Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area

The 46,283-acre Pharaoh Lake Wilderness is an outstanding part of the Adirondacks! The wilderness contains an abundance of lakes and ponds, the largest being Pharaoh Lake, at 441 acres. There are nearly 70- miles of trails within the Wilderness and no shortage of campsites. Come for a day hike or spend a weekend!

Crane Pond

Crane Pond is a beautiful gem in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness.

How to get there

Take Route 74 from Ticonderoga to Route 9. Follow Route 9 south, toward Schroon Lake. In just over a half mile, take a left onto Alder Meadow Road, follow it for about 2.2 miles, then turn onto Crane Pond Road. Follow that for 1.5 miles to the large parking area at the end of the road. Crane Pond Road is typically not in very good condition so be prepared for a longer walk or ski if it is not drivable.

Blueberry Hill Trails

The Blueberry Hill Trails are located in the Town of Elizabethtown and were built for hiking, snowshoeing, mountain biking, horseback riding, and cross country skiing. There are several other viewing areas within the trail system that are quite rewarding.
