Attractions for all ages

The Lake Champlain Region offers exciting adventures for both the young and the young at heart. Opportunities range from famous military forts and museums to arts and cultural venues to a plethora of outdoor recreational activities that offer excitement all year long.

For history buffs, art enthusiasts, and those who simply want to explore a new walk with an amazing view, the Lake Champlain Region has a delightful array of attractions that offer leisurely fun. From bowling alleys to working farms, square dances at the grange hall to waterfront parks, historic monuments to a recreation of the Star Trek Enterprise main bridge, the attractions of the Lake Champlain area will keep the whole family happy and engaged, any time of year.

The historic hamlets of Essex, Keeseville, Westport, Fort Ticonderoga, and Port Henry are lined with interesting historic sites and are a great place for self-guided walking tours. The Crown Point Historic Site and Fort Ticonderoga are key pieces of early American history and provide unique perspectives on the early history of the area. We even have lighthouses, where the story of this large lake and it's own role in shaping the region is celebrated, too.

With so much history around, it's no surprise that the area is full of wonderful people who love the area. From innkeepers to chefs to artists operating their own galleries, the area has a lot of creative people, a welcoming atmosphere, and many great stories to tell. Here, there is plenty of fun to be had and great people to encounter.
