Colors of Freedom Juneteenth Celebration
The Colors of Freedom Juneteenth Celebration is a program that honors blacks that did not realize their freedom after the Civil War ended. It is a day that many blacks recognize as their day of independence. This program will begin on June 20 with an Art Exhibit at the SUNY Plattsburgh Art Museum from 5 to 7 in the evening. A reception will also be available. On June 21 attendees will be visit sites associated with the Underground Railroad, see re-enactments, and enjoy entertainment. Food will be available. The program on Saturday starts at the North Star Underground Railroad Museum and ends at the John Brown Farm.
