In depth

Located on the banks of the Boquet River, Elizabethtown is a quaint, friendly community with much to offer in a beautiful, unspoiled Adirondack landscape. Visit and you will understand why it has long been a popular destination for artists, writers, and photographers.

The Blueberry Hill trail network offers miles of groomed trails, a warming hut, and a lean-to overlooking Elizabethtown, the Essex County seat. Looking for a fun mountain bike trail? Otis Mountain is perfect, it offers energizing trails with breathtaking views.

Elizabethtown is home to the Adirondack History Museum, which contains a research library, preserved Adirondack fire tower, many exhibits, and a colonial garden. Another popular feature of the museum is the Rosenberg Gallery, named after legendary local artist James N. Rosenberg. The Rosenberg Gallery showcases the rich history of Adirondack art. During growing season a weekly farmers' market on the museum grounds offers an abundance of locally produced products and live entertainment.

Want to swing a club? Do a round of golf at the historic Cobble Hill Golf Course, a nine-hole course set in a spectacular setting.
