Working Hike @ Flying Squirrel Trail
JOIN CHAMPLAIN AREA TRAILS IN A WORKING HIKE ON THE FLYING SQUIRREL TRAIL ON FRIDAY, APRIL 5TH AT 12 P.M.
This trail is just two miles round trip. The trail goes through the forest, alongside some small cliffs with a few small creek crossings. Along the way, we will clean up the trail from the blowover after the heavy winds, and do some light stone work on the creek crossings as needed. We will also tackle some invasives that are near the trail.
WHAT TO BRING: We will work with loppers and hand saws, which Champlain Area Trails can provide. Feel free to bring your own tools as well. Make sure to come with appropriate footwear for the weather conditions, and bring gloves, water, and some snacks!
DIRECTIONS: The trailhead is located on the east side of Lakeshore Road, across from the NYSDEC Split Rock Wild Forest Trails Lewis Clearing Bay Trailhead Parking Area in Westport. Click here for Google map directions.
REGISTRATION: Please register by 6:00 p.m. the day before the event by emailing tony@champlainareatrails.com, but it's also okay to meet us there Friday at noon.
