Shuttle Bus Tour Highlights & Schedule

• 10:00 AM – Crown Point State Historic Site (30 mins): Begin your journey with a warm welcome and introduction from the expert interpretive staff. Learn about the site's historical significance as they set the stage for the day’s exploration.

• 11:00 AM – History Shuttle Departs: Board the bus as the tour officially begins, led by Crown Point State Historic Site staff who will guide you through the region’s rich and fascinating history.

• Moriah Iron Center (30 mins): Travel back in time at the Town of Moriah Iron Center in Port Henry. Discover how the region's thriving iron ore industry played a pivotal role in American history.

• Westport (1 hour): Enjoy a scenic stop in Westport! Grab food and enjoy a picnic lunch at beautiful Ballard Park. Here, we'll delve into the strategic importance of Lake Champlain during the Revolutionary War.

• Whallonsburg Grange Hall and Whitcombs (30 mins): Explore the picturesque Boquet River and reflect on its critical role during General Burgoyne’s 1777 Saratoga Campaign, offering a blend of natural beauty and historical insight.

• 2:00 p.m. The History Shuttle Returns to Crown Point State Historic Site

Return Journey: After our final stop, we'll return to Crown Point State Historic Site (approximately 40-minute travel time). We encourage you to further explore everything the site has to offer!
