Colors of Freedom Juneteenth Celebration

The Colors of Freedom Juneteenth Celebration is a program that honors blacks that did not realize their freedom after the Civil War ended.  It is a day that many blacks recognize as their day of independence.  This program will begin on June 20 with an Art Exhibit at the SUNY Plattsburgh Art Museum from 5 to 7 in the evening.  A reception will also be available.  On June 21 attendees will be visit sites associated with the Underground Railroad, see re-enactments, and enjoy entertainment.  Food will be available.  The program on Saturday starts at the North Star Underground Railroad Museum a

Memorial Day in Westport

Join us in remembering and honoring our Service men and women, in Ballard Park at the Westport Veteran's Memorial, at 9 am. (Time adjusted from last year's 8am start!). Coffee and sweets will be available before and after, as well as cello music by Felix Haskins. Golf carts will be available to help those with transportation needs. The speaker will be Westport's own Lt Col. (Ret.) Andrew Beal.
