Lake Champlain Maritime Museum opens for the 2022 season this Saturday, May 21 with free admission for all visitors. Indoor and outdoor exhibits will be open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Some highlights for the museum’s 2022 season include:

  • The Clean Water Act, a new exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of the passage of the Clean Water Act, exploring its impact on the Champlain Valley, and highlighting some of the people of our past and present working to keep all our waterways clean.
  • Abenaki Heritage Weekend, June 18–19, a free weekend event in partnership with the Vermont Abenaki Artists Association and a chance for the public to explore and learn about the Abenaki perspective on life in the Champlain Valley.
  • Replica boats open for tours (conditions permitting) including the replica canal schooner Lois McClure docked in the museum’s harbor and the replica Revolutionary War gunboat Philadelphia II on display on the museum’s green.
  • Museum After Hours Summer Party, July 8, a special evening party featuring live music, pizza, ice cream, cocktails, and exhibits in support of the museum. Tickets: www.lcmm.org/SummerParty

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum tells the stories of the Champlain Valley for all visitors to look to the past and see what is possible for the future. Eliminating admission fees ensures that our shared history, the lake, and the museum are accessible to all residents and visitors to the region. Visitors can plan their trip to the museum and check out which exhibits are open at www.lcmm.org/Visit.

The 2022 season and free admission are made possible with support from the Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership, Lake Champlain Basin Program, and the museum’s members, donors, and corporate sponsors. The museum will share regular updates and events on their website and social media.
