Opening Reception

The Adirondack Art Association (AAA) is pleased to invite the community to an opening reception for painter Kathleen Richards Clark on Friday, July 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the Main Gallery.

Richards Clark is a classically trained painter whose work reflects a commitment to traditional technique, careful observation, and lasting beauty. Her paintings include portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and animals, with an approach shaped by her study of classical academic painting and Renaissance oil painting methods.

Join us for an evening of art, fellowship, and refreshments with local artists, artisans, and friends of the gallery.

The exhibition will be on view July 17 through August 5.

We look forward to seeing you there!

STATEMENT FROM THE ARTIST, KATHLEEN RICHARDS CLARK:
“My primary mission is to create art to be appreciated– not only now, but centuries from now.

I’ve studied under Frank Covino, who is the absolute master of the school of classical academic painting, stressing the Italian Renaissance oil painting methods. I’ve also studied under other noted artists such as Margaret Baumgeaertner, Johnnie Lilledahl, Thomas Buechner, Lois Woolley, and Ann Kulberg. I have studied very hard to get to the point that I am today. While I have exhibited for nearly 25 years, for the past two years I have exhibited at The American Artists Professional League’s Grand National Exhibition in New York City (2014, 2015).

To me, drawing and painting is a gift from God. To portray the beauty of God’s people and creation is a wonderful feeling. I am so blessed to have learned this gift. I pray that my art will open doors of joy to all who see my paintings.”
