Join us on Saturday, November 8th, at 9 a.m. for a Saturday Volunteer Day at the Beaver Flow Trail!

Date: November 8th

Time: 9 AM

Location: Bobcat/Beaver Flow Trailhead, Walker Rd, Essex, New York

Are you looking for an outdoor adventure while giving back to the community? Join Champlain Area Trails for a Second Saturday Volunteer Project on the Beaver Flow Trail. This is considered an easy trail. It is roughly a 2.5 round-trip that meanders through a mixed forest and runs parallel to a small waterway with lots of beaver activity.

During this working hike, we will engage in trail maintenance activities such as developing new tread, lopping, hand sawing, string-trimming, and cleaning up the trail, making it safer and more enjoyable for all hikers. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the fresh air, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and contribute to preserving a fantastic community trail.

WHAT TO BRING:

- Tools: Champlain Area Trails will provide loppers, hand saws, and string trimmers, but feel free to bring your own tools if you prefer.

- Safety Gear: Bring gloves and protective eyewear (if using a string trimmer).

- Hydration: Don’t forget to bring water!

- Snacks: Pack some snacks for energy during the hike.

- Clothing: Dress in layers and footwear that can get muddy. Be mindful of bugs and ticks.

Support Our Mission:

Our volunteers play a crucial role in bringing our mission to life by creating and maintaining trails. Our dedicated team cannot accomplish this work alone. Your contributions are essential to our efforts to make and maintain our 100+ miles of trails in New York’s Champlain Valley. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate your donation today!
