18th Regiment Encampment Weekend 

Step back in time with the Adirondack Living History Association, the 118th NY Vol. Infantry, and the Town of Newcomb for a weekend dedicated to American Civil War history. This immersive "Blue/Grey" encampment features living history demonstrations, skirmishes, and educational exhibits.

 Camp Hours

  • Saturday, Aug 15th: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

  • Sunday, Aug 16th: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Event Highlights

  • Living History: Experience demonstrations of Artillery, Infantry, Cavalry, Medical practices, and Civilian camp life.

  • Tactical Skirmishes: Two scheduled skirmishes will take place over the weekend, based on "The Battles of South Mtn. (Fox’s & Turner’s Gaps)."

  • Saturday Night Special Event (7:30 pm – 9:30 pm): * Guided Candlelight Walk: An evening tour based on "The Letters of Pvt. William Wood."

    • Artillery Night-Fire: The evening concludes with a dramatic night-fire demonstration.
