See More Dates

Forest Health Walk

Join Champlain Area Trails (CATS) and the Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP) for a hands-on Beech Leaf Disease (BLD) educational hike and Forest Pest Hunter survey training on the scenic Twin Valleys property in Lewis, NY.

Get outside and make a difference! This 2-mile outing is the perfect way to explore the beauty of our local trails while learning how to spot and report invasive pests that threaten the Adirondacks. We’ll teach you how to identify beech trees and signs of BLD, and show you how to use the iMapInvasives app to contribute valuable data for conservation.

WHAT TO BRING:

- Hydration: Don’t forget to bring water!

- Snacks: Pack some snacks for energy during the hike.

- Clothing: Dress for Summer weather in layers and footwear that can get wet. Be mindful of ticks and bugs.
