Cello Masterclass
Open to the public, this masterclass will take place at the Edward Lee and Jean Campe Concert Hall on Meadowmount campus. For more than 80 years, Meadowmount has been America’s most respected and beloved summer home for rising generations of violinists, violists, and cellists.
Colin Carr appears throughout the world as a cello soloist and chamber musician. He has played with major orchestras worldwide, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic, and BBC Symphony; the orchestras of Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, Philadelphia, and Montréal; and all the major orchestras of Australia and New Zealand. He has played recitals throughout the United States and Europe, and was a member of the Golub-Kaplan-Carr Trio for 20 years. Mr. Carr attended the Yehudi Menuhin School, studying with Maurice Gendron and William Pleeth. He is a professor at the Royal Academy of Music and at Stony Brook University in New York; and musician in residence at St. John’s College, Oxford. He has also taught at the New England Conservatory.
