Welcome to Lake Champlain
Autumn along the Adirondack coast is something that must be experienced. From local farm stands overflowing with the harvest to endless colors dotting the hillsides as trees turn in the fall, the Lake Champlain Region is a spectacle to behold.
But just because the days are shorter and the air a little more crisp doesn't mean that your favorite adventures are hibernating. Fall in the Lake Champlain Region opens up new adventures or allows you to relive your favorites but with a new flavor.
Step into fun
With every season our landscape transforms and displays a character all its own. Fall in the Adirondacks is perfect for adventures, whether you're on a bike or on foot on a CATS trail. Speaking of CATS, the trail system includes more than 40 miles of trail, many of which are short, easy hikes to spectacular vistas of Lake Champlain to the east and the impressive Adirondack High Peaks to the west. Check out our suggestions to help you choose the ideal trail and to find our birding hot spots. Autumn is also an excellent time to hit the links, get your line wet, or explore on two wheels.
A historic location
Lake Champlain and the towns along the shore have a long, fascinating history. This is a place that has seen revolutionary battles, fights for freedom, and abolitionists. There's even a pre-historic lake monster! The scenery at these locations, including forts and museums, is simply gorgeous.
Fresh from the farm
After a day outside in the fresh air, we appreciate our dining options and the opportunity to sip a hot beverage or cool cocktail. Our local restaurants pride themselves on using amazing produce from dedicated local farmers. We take fresh, healthy food seriously and have serious fun with it.
