Champ has found a new favorite spot at War Cannon Spirits, now open at 2849 Route 9N in Crown Point. This inviting establishment offers a unique experience with a blend of history and modern charm. The tasting room itself is a remarkable piece of history, its structure dating back to 1820 (not nearly as old as Champ, but still impressive!) Stop by to treat yourself to something special from the drink menu that offers creative cocktails, locally made spirits, wines, mead, and cider. For those craving a bite to eat, War Cannon Spirits provides a tasty selection of snacks and appetizers as well as options for lunch or dinner – when the weather is beautiful, opt for outdoor seating! The experience doesn't stop there, as the venue offers an array of War Cannon Spirits branded merchandise, including gift cards, soaps, and more! Champ couldn't be happier to support this establishment that honors the past while creating new memories.
Mountain Dog Restaurant and Pub
In Westport, Champ highly recommends making a stop at the Mountain Dog Restaurant and Pub, the newest gem in the Westport community. Located at 6455 Main Street and nestled across from the beloved Ballard Park, this eatery has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Whatever you're craving, the Mountain Dog Restaurant and Pub has something to delight every type of eater, even the most discerning ones. The Mill
Champ suggests to stay watchful over the historic mill located across from the Essex County Fairgrounds in Westport. Now known as The Mill, and also of the coolest ever additions to the town, it is becoming a multi-purpose community space. Taylor Haskins, a renowned musician and Westport regular, is the creative director behind this project, working through this epic project with unwavering dedication. The refurbished Mill will open soon, with Red Oak Food Co. being the first to set up shop. They'll offer wildcrafted products, sourdough bread, small batch miso, and private chef services for 2-6 people. Stay tuned for more info!
Paper and Pencil
Another insider tip from Champ: keep your eye on the shore near Ticonderoga's historic LaChute River, where later this summer, a new restaurant cleverly named Paper & Pencil will be opening at 117 Burgoyne Rd. Offering a delightful menu of Farm to Table fare and hosting a beautifully renovated banquet space, this new restaurant is one of Champ's most highly anticipated new local favorite gathering place!
