Bird Walk with Point Au Roche State Park

April 5  - April 5
See More Dates

Join us in our new First Friday Bird Walks series with Point Au Roche State Park from 9 am to 10:30 am.

Kristin Collins, the environment educator at Point Au Roche State Park Nature Center, and Torey Patenaude, the Community Engagement and Outreach Manager for Champlain Area Trails, will lead this fairly easy walk. They are not birding experts but rather nature lovers with some birding background. Located on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain, Point Au Roche State Park hosts a mixture of forested and open areas. We will walk a few miles on the trails looking for birds that overwinter here. The trails offer lovely views of Lake Champlain as well as budding woods in Spring. It should be a fantastic morning!

NEED TO KNOW: This is a morning walk in April, so dress warmly. Early Spring is pretty chillly! BYOB (bring your own binoculars)- though the nature center will have a few pairs to lend out if needed.

DIRECTIONS:  Point Au Roche State Park is at 19 Camp Red Cloud Rd, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

REGISTRATION: Email torey@champlainareatrails.com to register, though it is also okay to show up that morning to join.
