In May our area attractions open for the season - Fort Ticonderoga, Ausable Chasm and most all of the historic museums are ready to welcome the season's visitors with exciting new programs, events and activities.

Crown Point State Historic Site holds its annual Memorial Day Celebration on May 26-27, while Penfield Museum in Crown Point opens it's doors with the much anticipated pancake breakfast on June 2.

An annual tradition continues again this year with Fort Ticonderoga's Scots Day on June 15, with the commemoration of Scottish heritage and the significant contributions it made to 18th-century North American history. The event runs from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Tour the Scottish Clan tents and vendors to discover more about your own connection to Scottish culture, and explore the stories of centuries of Scottish soldiers in the British Army through a military timeline offered throughout the day. Fort Ticonderoga hosts numerous historical events and re-enactments throughout the summer.
