When visiting Ticonderoga, there is no limit to the beauty you can find. The region is well-known for its natural vistas: from its unique location you can catch views of Lake George, Lake Champlain, the Green Mountains of Vermont, the peaks of the Adirondacks, countless ponds and rivers, acres of beautiful farmland and, of course, historical sites. But did you know there is a place in downtown Ticonderoga that displays an entirely different sense of beauty? Ticonderoga Arts: Downtown Gallery is a place where local artists can showcase and sell their work including canvas paintings, photographs, glass ware, ceramic work, jewelry, sculptures, and more.

The Downtown Gallery is completely staffed by the volunteers whose artwork adorns the gallery. Separated into two spaces, one room is utilized by member artists to display their work, while the second room is used as a showroom for any themed exhibits, or special guest artist spotlight that is on the event schedule.

Ticonderoga Arts: Downtown Gallery has become a staple in the community. From its inception in 2008, they have outgrown two locations, and now host events and exhibits that attract visitors from near and far. Throughout the year they work with local schools to provide opportunities for students to showcase their artwork in a meaningful and professional manner.

The schedule of events for the Downtown Gallery is varied and rich. In fact, two of the most popular exhibits are still to come in the 2021 season. Kicking off the autumn season will be an exhibit entitled "Petals and Paintings." For this unique twist, artists will create a floral arrangement based off of an art piece found within the Gallery. These designs will be exhibited next to the artwork that inspired their creation. Running September 9 - 11, this show is not to be missed! Also this fall, The Adirondack Harvest Plein Air Festival will celebrate its 8th year. Artists will flock to the Ticonderoga Area September 23 - 26 to paint outdoor scenes. At the end of the festival a selection of these works will be chosen to be exhibited at the Downtown Gallery through the month of October.
