This trail passes by rocky ledges and leads to a lovely hemlock forest!
Getting there
Take Route 22 north from Westport and bear right on Lakeshore Road, then bear right again onto Sherman Road. The trailhead is about 0.75 miles after the turn.
By the numbers
- Distance: 1 mile round trip
- Elevation gain: 125 feet
Nature walk
The Hemlock Hill loop is near the Viall's Crossing trail system. Do this 1 mile loop on its own, or add it to a longer day of hiking with the nearby trails. The rocky ledfges that the loop passes are unique to the area. Look out for the interesting moss and lichen that coats them!
