The former name of Mount Inez in the Adirondacks was Mount Discovery. The mountain was renamed in 1916 by the town of Lewis to honor Inez Milholland, but the name change was not officially recognized at the federal level until recently. The U.S. Board on Geographic Names officially approved the name change to Mount Inez in late 2019.
