This lovely loop offers wonderful woods and water views. The entire hamlet of Essex is designated as a National Historic District, with 160 structures built between 1810 and 1860.
How to get there
From Indian Lake, take Route 30 south about 12 miles to the campground on the left. Here, there is a boat launch you can use to access the islands and Indian Lake. The islands are boat access only.
The roads here are open, with wooded terrain alongside. This area is low traffic. There are services in Essex and Whallonsburg.
