Springtime in the Ticonderoga area is usually a flurry of activity with businesses, attractions, and the community preparing for visitors and the busy summer season. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic made for a HUGE setback. Come March, many local businesses were shuttered, and those that were deemed essential were operating in limited and modified capacities.

Fast forward a few months and a sense of normalcy has begun to creep back into our lives. As you tour the area you will see business' “open” flags flying high. Visitors are making a return to the area to enjoy our rich history, scenic beauty and many recreational opportunities…after all, during quarantine, weren’t we all dreaming of traveling? Our comeback is upon us and everyone loves a comeback!

Of course, safety has become the number one concern for us all. Visitors to the Ticonderoga area can rest assured that safety guidelines will be adhered to, and their health, as well as the health of our community is of the utmost importance. Face masks and social distancing are required at all businesses.

So, what does a comeback look like for the Ticonderoga area?

Lodging: Most hotels, motels, resorts, campgrounds, and cabins in the area are open. Use of face masks will be required in any common areas and some amenities may not be available. Strict cleaning guidelines ensure that any guest will be able to find a safe and comfortable place to stay.

Restaurants: There is a wide variety of restaurants open and operating. With takeout, curbside service, outdoor dining and indoor seating options available, all of your dining needs can be met!

Retailers: Our local retailers are doing everything they can to provide a safe and enjoyable shopping experience. Mask requirements, use of hand sanitizer, and increased cleaning and sanitizing practices allow visitors to find unique treasures and souvenirs while being as safe as possible.

Attractions: Museums, art galleries, historical sites, golf courses, and miniature golf, as well as other attractions, are operating, some in modified capacities, to ensure visitors to our region have a dynamic selection of entertainment opportunities.

Recreation: Do you know what never closed during quarantine? Mother Nature! Our lakes, ponds, rivers, and mountains offer an abundance of recreational opportunities. From boating and fishing to kayaking and hiking, the great outdoors is waiting for you.

Relaxing: The Ticonderoga area is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. Take a stroll by the river, soak up some sun, sit by a campfire, book a soothing massage, or indulge in a beauty treatment. You will return from your visit rested and rejuvenated!
