A Christmas Carol

The Festival Guild Players brings the classic story of Scrooge and Tiny Tim to life with a new and modern version of A Christmas Carol. The Ticonderoga Municipal Building Auditorium will host performances on December 11th - 13th and 18th - 20th.

Noble History

An annual event at Fort Ticonderoga is a terrific living history story, The Noble Train Begins. In 1775 Colonel Henry Knox undertook an immense challenge to move heavy artillery from Fort Ticonderoga to aid in defense at the Siege of Boston. As you can imagine, moving heavy artillery in the winter in the 1700s was a serious undertaking. Come and see how it was done and the beasts they used to help them. Don't miss this on December 5th beginning at 10 a.m.

Christmas in Essex

On December 12th the community of Essex comes together for a Christmas celebration complete with Santa and Mrs. Claus! A full day of activities is planned beginning with Santa's arrival on the Essex Ferry and continuing all day with a vendor show, a bazaar, Reindeer Fun Run for Kids, Silent Auction, and much more. You can spend the whole day and then spend the night in Essex for an even better experience!

At The Grange

The Whallonsburg Grange offers up some great events this month with films, a square dance, and Holiday Market. The fun begins on December 12th with the annual Holiday Square Dance. This is a great stop after shopping all day at Christmas in Essex. Then on December 19th do some last minute Christmas shopping at the Holiday Market, with food, decorations, holiday cheer, and crafts. There will also be children's activities to keep the little ones occupied while you fill up your shopping bags! Bring an item for the food pantry as there will be a collection all day during the Holiday Market. The Whallonsburg Grange is located at 1610 NYS Route 22 in Whallonsburg.

These are just some of the highlights of all the events in the Lake Champlain Region this month. Make sure to browse the entire events schedule so you don't miss anything. Holiday shopping in the Lake Champlain Region is lots of fun and you can also take in the views along the way. Don't miss out on any of the fun this holiday season!
