Gull Pond

Winter Overview and Trail Conditions:

From the trailhead it is a very enjoyable half mile to the Shore of Gull Pond. From the trailhead you will notice only a slight elevation gain which continues most of the way to the pond, but very minimal overall. The shore is lovely and open in many spots making for a perfect location to have a picnic, hot chocolate, or other tasty treats, if the weather cooperates. Looking across the shore you can see the rocky cliff area of Smith and Leland Hill.

Experienced Snowshoers:            30 to 45 minutes

Out of Shape Snowshoers: 45 minutes to 1 hour

Trailhead Location:

Follow Route 9, north out of Schroon Lake. Locate Alder Meadow Road on the right. Follow Alder Meadow Road for 3.75 miles to the trailhead on the left.

Difficulty: 1=easiest, 5=hardest

One: This is a short, flat snowshoe with very little elevation change.
