Tanaher Pond

Directions to Access Points:

From the intersection of County Route 6 and County Route 7 in Mineville, follow Route 7 toward Elizabethtown. Continue for about 3 miles to a faint dirt access road on the right. This is a very rough road, drive down it about 100 feet for parking.

Shoreline Fishing:

Limited, but if you walk south along the shore you can find a few spots to cast out.

Boat access:

There is only this one access for a boat. Canoe and Kayak are best or a small boat with a trolling motor or motor no more than 5hp. Northern Pike in this pond are quite small but still fun to catch, but the only real way to catch them is from a boat in the center of pond.

Fish Species:

Northern pike, perch, panfish, bullhead

Special Regulations:

Always follow state fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional NYSDEC office.

Also please refer to the state regulations and preventative measures in reagrds to Aquatic Invasive Species, boat wash facilities, and the new state law of “Clean, Drain, and Dry.”
