Russett Pond

Directions to Access Points:

From the intersection of County Route 6 and County Route 7 in Mineville, follow Route 7 toward Elizabethtown. Continue for around 3.5 miles to a fairly large dirt pull off on the left, park here.

Shoreline Fishing:

Very limited with searching around for a clear area, boat is best.

Boat access:

Using the carry down from Lincoln Pond Road it is much earlier to bring a canoe or kayak, but its not unreasonable to carry down a small trolling motor or a motor of 5hp or less. If you want to catch the northern pike, even though small you will need a boat for best practices. Bass are also seen in this pond and best to catch by casting toward shore and reeling back to the deep waters.

Fish Species:

Northern Pike, smallmouth bass, perch, panfish

Special Regulations:

Always Follow State fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional NYSDEC office.

Also please refer to the state regulations and preventative measures in reagrds to Aquatic Invasive Species, boat wash facilities, and the new state law of “Clean, Drain, and Dry.”
