Mill and Murrey Ponds

Directions to Access Points:

From the intersection of County Route 6 and County Route 7 in Mineville, follow Route 7 toward Elizabethtown. Continue for around 3 miles to a faint trail on the right that leads down to Murrey Pond.

Shoreline Fishing:

Limited, but if you walk south along the shore you can find a few spots to cast out. There is more room for shoreline fishing on Mill Pond on the south side.

Boat access:

This pond is very similar to Tanaher Pond its neighbor to the south. There is only this one access for a boat. Canoe and Kayak are best or a small boat with a trolling motor or motor no more than 5hp. Northern Pike in this pond are quite small but still fun to catch, but the only real way to catch them is from a boat in the center of pond.

Fish Species:

Northern pike, perch, panfish, bullhead

Special Regulations:

Always Follow State fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional NYSDEC office.

Also please refer to the state regulations and preventative measures in reagrds to Aquatic Invasive Species, boat wash facilities, and the new state law of “Clean, Drain, and Dry.”
