Bobby Sweet began his performing career in his father’s band at age 7.
As a performer and sideman, he has shared the bill with many top country and folk artists, including Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, Martin Sexton, Waylon Jennings and Pete Seeger.
Between 2008 and 2015 he toured with Arlo Guthrie as a sideman playing such landmark venues as Carnegie Hall, the New Orleans Jazz Festival and A Prairie Home Companion. In 2011 he was selected as a finalist in the prestigious Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Contest in Kerrville, TX, and has received honorable mentions from The UK Songwriting Contest, The Billboard Songwriting Contest and the Mountain Stage NewSong Contest.
He has also written songs that have aired on many hit television series, such as Nashville, Touched by an Angel, Walker Texas Ranger and CSI. Stylistically, his music resides somewhere between Jackson Browne, John Prine and a countryfied Bruce Springsteen. An engaging storyteller, he is at home on any stage, whether performing solo or with his full band.
The show will also feature members of the Sweet family.
