The fire tower lighting is a statewide event that starts in the Catskills with 5 fire towers and will continue through fire towers throughout the Adirondacks.
As a reminder of the time when fire towers were there to protect the community and the surrounding forest, many fire towers in the Adirondacks will participate in the annual state wide lighting of the towers. Volunteers will light up the fire towers on Saturday, September 5 between 9 and 9:30 PM.
This is the ultimate social distancing event. NO HIKING INVOLVED; all you need to do is find a spot to view a participating tower and enjoy the show!
Rain date - Sunday, 9/6/2020. Same times
