Please join us on Tuesday, October 19th, from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. for "A World on the Wing: The Global Odyssey of Migratory Birds" with New York Times Bestselling Author and ornithologist, Scott Weidensaul at the Whallongsburg Grange.
Based on his newest book A World on the Wing, ornithologist Scott Weidensaul will talk about the navigational and physiological feats that enable migratory birds to cross immense oceans or fly above the highest mountains, go weeks without sleep or remain in unbroken flight for months at a stretch. Even as scientists make astounding discoveries about bird behavior, humans have brought many migrants to the brink of extinction. This presentation also looks at how scientists, researchers, and bird lovers are trying to preserve global migratory patterns in the face of climate change and other looming challenges.
