Important Paid Family Medical Leave Seminar 


Ticonderoga, NY – August 29, 2017 - The Ticonderoga Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC) in coordination with SCORE of Clinton, Franklin, and Essex and the North Country Chamber of Commerce have added an important program to the line-up of Fall 2017 Business Seminars.  The Paid Family Medical Leave Seminar - Managing Leave Time will be held on Monday, November 6th from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Chamber Office in Ticonderoga (94 Montcalm Street, Suite 1). 

On January 1st, 2018, New York companies/businesses and not-for-profits will be required to provide paid family leave to their employees, regardless of the size of the employer. The paid family leave is in addition to existing employer requirements for family medical leave, short-term disability leave and worker’s compensation. Unfortunately, New York’s new paid family leave program does not fit seamlessly over these other programs. Join Jaci Kelleher for an informative session on employer’s new obligations under New York’s paid family leave law, and what employers can do to incorporate this new program into their workplace.
