Champlain Area Trails announces January events

Upcoming CATS Events Highlights:

  • Saturday, January 21 at 9:30 to 1:30 – "Animal Tracking" hike at Poko-Moonshine hosted by CATS and Friends of Poko-Moonshine. Please meet at the new trailhead which is about a mile south of the main trail at Poke-O on Route 9. David Thomas Train will lead you into the Lost Oak Valley to look for, identify, and record the varieties of animal tracks. Please dress warmly and bring a lunch.   • Thursday, January 26 at Whallonsburg Grange 7 - 8:30 – Sue Morse, the renowned wildlife tracker, photographer, and founder of Keeping Track. CATS and Northeast Wilderness Trust are hosting this entertaining and informative presentation about wildlife, especially bobcats in the Champlain Valley and their return from near extinction. Sue will share stories from her own experience and research. She is a great speaker and photographer so you will definitely want to attend (suggested donation of $5 – 10).
