Ticonderoga, NY – The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership is excited to announce that Streetfest, an annual community celebration of arts and crafts, shopping, food, fun, entertainment, and family activities to bring people to Ticonderoga's historic Montcalm Street district, continues to grow and will be even bigger and better this year. The event will be held in downtown Ticonderoga on Saturday, July 30th when Montcalm Street will be converted into a pedestrian mall open to the public from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Please plan to join us and enjoy the offerings of more than two dozen craftsmen and vendors, as well as about 23 local merchants.
Food options will be extensive and there will be free entertainment throughout the day. The Fife & Drum corps from Fort Ticonderoga will perform at 10:00 and Mike Murdoch will play his bagpipe from 10:30 to 11:30. From 11:30 to 1:00 there will be the striking vocals of McKenna Lee and the Eva Channel from Burlington who will play contemporary rhythm and blues and Loose Connections from Crown Point will play their blend of blues, rock & roll and reggae from 1:30 to 3:00.
Plan to come early so that you and the kids don't miss anything. The Ready to Go Doggy Show will be in the park behind Glens Falls National Bank from 9:00 to 10:30 AM. Penelope the Clown will be on Montcalm Street to entertain the little ones; All 'Bout Critters will have a display; and Lowe's will be offering their children's project clinic as well. Also on display will be a Hacker Boat, new cars and about a dozen classic cars as well as various other recreational vehicles. In addition, a Farmer's Market will offer local produce and products.
Montcalm Street between Lake George and Champlain Avenues, the downtown area of Ticonderoga, will closed to traffic from 8:00 AM to5:00 PM. Should the weather not cooperate, the event will be held the next day, Sunday, July 31.
The Ticonderoga Montcalm Street Partnership seeks to create meaningful, long-term change in Ticonderoga's traditional business district and to promote economic revitalization.
