HISTORIC – Prior to the American Revolution it was once the largest
settlement and trading center between Albany and Montreal. Crown Point's
strategic location on Lake Champlain was sought by both the British
and the French. The Crown Point State Historic Site is the location
of both the former French "Fort St. Frederic" and British
"His Majesty's Fort at Crown Point."
